Summertime, and the living is easy...

Well, it would be easy if I were to come home to this house after work each day!!!! A project by Sixx Design {the talented couple of Courtney & Robert Novogratz, who I have only recently discovered} this house is in Great Barrington and is fabulous. Everything from the gorgeous shutters to the bright, fun & colourful interior - makes for a chic home for this couple & their children. They have also released a new book recently from Rizzoli called 'Downtown Chic'. After flicking through their online portfolio, I can't wait to get my hands on this book! Another one for the every expanding library.

Great finds...

After receiving a lovely comment from Ashlina over at Secrets of Domestic Bliss, I headed on over to check out her blog and lucky I did - I loved it!!!!! While I was there, I came across this amazing website which she had posted about, called H&H Household & Horticulture {Hoot & Heart}. Well, I left feeling very inspired and just had to share some of the gorgeous pictures with you.

Holiday DIY...

The completed project...

The poor chair before it's makeover...

The last week has simply flown by and I can't believe it's Thursday again!!! My time has been spent tidying up around the house and doing a mountain of jobs that were put in the 'too hard' basket last year. Although I have many a project to go {my list never seems to get smaller} I thought I would show you a chair I updated which now resides in our study. With a few licks of Porters Milk Paint and a coat of varnish it was ready for a fresh fabric to complete the look. I found this little remnant in my stash and it was the perfect size!!!
Voila... A new chair :-)

I'm back...

Well, I've come back to reality after a 2 week break with my family in Cairns. It was a wonderful christmas and new year with lots of relaxing and lounging about whilst enjoying some holiday fare!!! Our garden was like a jungle when we arrived back but after a hard days work today, it now looks respectable again! It's now time to focus on the year ahead and all that it may hold. I have many plans for this year and will hopefully start putting some in place in the not too distant future. One of them includes setting more time aside for painting, which I love. The painting above is one I did for a friend just before christmas and it was my first request {blue & white jars with pink lillies} which was most exciting. I was quite pleased with the result.
