Exciting purchase...

I am so excited as yesterday I purchased a pair of stunning Napoleon III armchairs for a great price!!! The upholstery is quite worn in places and needs a good clean so we can use them (sorry about the photo quality). They will sit proudly in my lounge room in place of an old sofa that needs replacing. They have all of their original horse hair, stuffing, springs etc so the hardest part now is trying to decide on what fabric to recover them in.... So many choices!!!!! I may need some help deciding... Will post some options soon.

Pumpkin soup...

As my close friends & family know, I am a little nutty when it comes to the weather! I love knowing the forecasts and watching the storms and rain on the Bureau of Meteorology website (weird I know.. but I do know other who do the same!). Anyway, I have seen that there is a cold snap coming again over the weekend so I think some pumpkin soup might be on the menu! YUM - there is nothing like freshly homemade soup!!!!!

A few dramas in our household today (nothing too serious) but in need of some serene and beautiful pictures! Nothing makes a statement like black & white and this room exudes simple elegance. I love it!

Brunch anyone...

There is nothing I would love to do more this weekend than have some friends over for a long brunch to eat some delicious food and solve the world's problems. Mind you, it would probably turn into dinner also if I had a gorgeous table and kitchen like the one above!

She wore blue velvet...

Winter makes me want to be surrounded by things that exude comfort and warmth. The texture and feel of something can evoke so many different feelings. I love linens and natural fabrics, but at this time of year there is a certain appeal for fabrics like velvets. These pictures (from the deep dark depths of my computer files) have such an elegant but wam and rich feel.

Picture Perfect Provence...

After catching up on my blog reading after a weekend away, I was taken back to our time in Provence last year, after reading Vicki's Archer's post. The photos are taken by me and are of little towns around the area and also the chateau we stayed at for 6 wonderful days! It is such a beautiful part of the world... I could easily live there!

Little person...

Some of you were curious when I said we went camping with our friends and dogs. Thought I would post a pic of our little person (he thinks he is a human sitting on the couch like that)!!! He's a 1 1/2 yr old spoodle called Angus and he had the BEST time ever camping :-) I forgot my camera so didn't get any pics where we went, but it was so beautiful and relaxing (not to mention COLD!!!!!) Hope you all had a great weekend.
