Bookcases...

On the weekend just gone I ordered a heap of books from Amazon (they're actually for my wedding anniversary soon but I picked them - YAY)! I'm so excited as they are heaps of design books I have been wanting to get for ages. I can't wait. It got me thinking as to where I might store them (apart from the coffee table). I would LOVE a beautiful big cabinet or built-in bookshelves to store my growing collection. I dug through all of my images and found these above, any of which would be great. How do you store your books?

Exciting purchase...

I received an email the other day advising that Chris Chun's online boutique is now up and running. I have been a little busy this week and only just got time today to check it out. WOW - I went a little crazy and bought quite a few of his beautiful cards (some pictured above) which I am thinking of framing in a group. I think they will look stunning! I absolute love his work and will have to save up to purchase an original! You can check out his new online store here.

Assignment...

Well, it's been another assignment day today! I am designing a bedroom soft furnishings scheme for a master bedroom. Here are a couple of pictures of my floor plan and a perspective drawing showing the room (this is only the second perspective drawing I've had to do, so you'll have to excuse me). I have to render them for the presentation, which I'll post later in the week! Fingers crossed they look ok!!! (Sorry about the photos being crooked!)

Study day...

I have spent my day off today doing assignments and research all day :-( It made me think how much more enjoyable it would be if I had a lovely space to study in.... I hunted through my old pictures and came up with these great ideas!

Happy weekend...

There are a few of my friends who are going through wedding plans at the moment so I can't help but look at beautiful wedding photos and ideas when I come across them. The above photos are from 'Oh How Charming' which is an event planning studio (found via a Frolic wedding post). I was hooked once I saw the site which showcases so many beautiful images of their work - my favourite was a wedding in the Loire Valley... SIGH! To me that would be so perfect!!!!!!!! My own wedding was beautiful and I loved every minute of it, but seeing these amazing images makes me want to do it all over again! Crazy I know..... You can check out so many more amazing images here. Have a lovely weekend!

Wishful thinking...

I love the above items... They have a vintage charm that make them irresistible but quirky!!!. They can all be found along with lots of other goodies at a site I came across tonight called Gardenhouse.

Assignment inspiration...

Would love to have a bedroom that had this outlook - How nice to wake up to!

I have always wanted a vintage mannequin - still on the hunt...

Calm & restful - I love unusually shaped rooms!

Couldn't resist a beautiful french bed!

Have always loved this bedroom of Chrissie Jeffries

Love the shot of pink amongst the whites

This one has a relaxed, coastal feel

Love the scalloped edges of the bed linen!

I have been stuck at home today as we had painters and glass men here to fix some minor damage from a storm last year, so I made the most of my time and have been hunting for inspiration for one of my next assignments - a bedroom soft furnishings scheme! I found some great images on Flickr and thought I would share a snippet or two (or three)!

Saturday Markets...

Thought I would share a photo of some flowers I bought at the farmers markets this morning. We used to go every Saturday and have breakfast and then buy fresh fruit/veg and flowers for the house. I got slack and haven't been for ages so it was really lovely to visit them again!!! We mostly go to the Green Flea Markets at West End as they don't feel like a big commercial market and the setting around the park and river is beautiful.

I love having fresh flowers in the house, you can't help but smile :-)

It's now or never.....

I cannot believe I have finally started this blog!!! I have been a reader of so many amazing blogs for a long time now and haven't had the courage to start my own. This will be a record not only of the beautiful things I come across in daily life, but also of my journey further into the interior design world, as I continue to develop my own style and confidence! I am studying at the moment whilst working at Black and Spiro for the amazing and talented, Anna Spiro of Absolutely Beautiful Things!!!! I love going to work each day and am constantly inspired by my surroundings.
I love all things French (I can't help it!!!) and had a fabulous trip to Italy and France last year which left me craving for more. I love the simplicity of objects & fabrics placed together. I love mixing vintage pieces into a scheme as i think they create a sense of history and comfort. I love a beautiful garden and spending time in it. Lastly, I LOVE how a perfectly put together interior can make you feel instantly at home.
I hope you enjoy my snippets of inspiration and life...
